Revenge of the Cone Baskets
"The City of Jackson TN is selling 9 Old Baskets. They are $99 each. You must come pick them up as well. I am pretty sure they will sell them individually. These are old baskets. Not sure where they came from or who made them. Could be collector baskets!"

....somewhere in Central Texas that is. Nice, easy design to this one. I wonder how sturdy the base is with that weight on top. This design might be worth a try.

Mechanicsville, Iowa
Found this one on a French Lion's Club website....google translated it (I love literal translation):
The Lions build a course of frisbee golf for teenagersMembers of the Lions club of Mechanicsville in Iowa noticed children playing with frisbees in a local park. The local club of the Lions proposed to these young people the creation of a course of frisbee golf. These high-school pupils showed themselves very enthusiastic and obtained an estimate for this project. However, one among them, Matt Moravek, indicated to the club that it thought that this estimate was too high and offered to build the course itself within the framework of one of its classes. The club of the Lions of Mechanicsville collaborated with Moravek to buy the material necessary. The town of Mechanicsville made gift of cement to allow the construction of the installations and transported the assembled elements to the park. The project cost less than 1000 $. the club of the lions gave has Moravek the medal of gold "Young Leaders in Service" (services rendered by young leaders) to reward it for its work. Thanks to its efforts, and to the financial assistance of the club of the Lions, the teenagers of this community can now play frisbee golf.

This is an interesting one. At first glance I thought it homemade....but apparently this "DiscToss" target retails from a catalog /internet site for $179. Yikes...certainly doesn't look worth it! Listen to the pitch.
You’ll bring out all the generations at your next gathering with DiscToss, a fun new game for kids and adults alike. The rugged steel target is designed for quick assembly without tools—the components simply slide into position and secure with the built-in pushbutton locks.

Perhaps someone can drop a line on this one. It's a basket at the Willamette Pass Ski Resort. It looks homemade to me but I couldn't get a clear pic. Maybe I'll doctor it up a bit.

Stephen in PEI has a really nice personal blog and photo site. This was among his pics and I thought it to be a pretty cool target. I'm really starting to dig the idea of targets in addition to baskets. This whole endeavor must be changing my mind set or something.

Lake Stevens, WA II
Last month I featured a company that makes targets in Lake Stevens. Here is one of their targets in action at Catherine Creek Park.
I believe this is the annual site of Aquafest.
"Named for the stream that forms its eastern border, Catherine Creek Park consists of a network of trails in a tall stand of conifers. The gravel trails provide a quiet retreat in the middle of town. The park is home to an 18 hole disk golf course which is fun for beginners and challenges even the best of players. Players from all over the region come to take on the tricky and scenic course. Thanks to Dr. Fred Chittenden for designing, building and maintaining the course. "

Most certain these are homemade. Looks like a family course on someone's property. Couldn't find too much info but I did find this...."Our children enjoy sports and the outdoors. To entertain them (and ourselves) we created an 18 hole course on the property using 6 baskets with multiple fairways and approaches."
Pretty cool website for a family course:

Hey all. I never bothered to welcome you and that’s not right so welcome! I hope from time to time to post some notes from the blogmaster and so this is what these are.
First off I want to thank all the contributors who have helped make this site what it is so far. I encourage you to keep sending me those jpegs of your baskets and especially those stories of how they were built. I am in love with your stories. From each basket there is a tale to be told and to me, this is the exciting part of the journey that I hardly even expected.
So I started this whole thing because I was interested in building myself a basket but I didn’t quite no where to start. As you may be able to tell I am not the sort of spirit who shells out $350 without a fight. I googled a whole bunch of terms about disc golf and homemade baskets and I found quite a few interesting sites dedicated to the pursuit….but I couldn’t find a centralized place where different styles of homemade baskets are catalogued. Hopefully this blog will satisfy the need (that is if you can consider this a need.)
I’m going to keep rounding the globe looking for baskets until I can find no more. Send ‘em in and I’ll put them up. If you don’t send them I may find them anyway…..so just enjoy!
Keep tossin’,
